* The qualifying period for entries is May 1 2007 to April 30 2008. Performance during this period and projects being completed in this period are eligible for entry.

* Entries should be submitted on the official entry form [here].

* Every entry MUST include a top sheet, summarising and listing the key points of the entry.

* Each entry can only be made in a single category, and it must closely address the class criteria.

* Judges reserve the right to move entries if they are deemed more appropriate elsewhere.

* Light rail/metro entries are eligible for all classes.

* There is an entry fee of £23.50 (including VAT) for all classes with the exception of Outstanding Personal Contribution and Station of the Year (for which no fees are payable). Your entry should be accompanied by a cheque or credit card details for £23.50 per category, payable to Bauer Active Ltd, or an official order. Credit card details should be sent on a separate sheet of paper.

* Judges must be allowed reasonable access to a site if it is deemed necessary as part of the judging process.

* All or part of any entry may be published free of any reproduction fees by RAIL and in any media supporting the National Rail Awards.

* Where a number of companies are involved (as in Project of the Year), entrants MUST list all major contractors and partners involved.

* Where an individual is entering on behalf of their company, the company should authorise the submission (a signature from a senior regional manager, director or company secretary is sufficient).

* The judges decision is final and no discussion or correspondence relating to any of their decisions will be entered into.

Closing date for entries is Friday 11 April 2008. All entries should be sent to: Clive Nicholls, Awards Director, National Rail Awards, Bushfield House, Orton Centre, Peterborough PE2 5UW.
